We are looking for a Head of Invoicing and Consumption to join our Sales Operations team in Manchester. In this position you will have end‑to‑end responsibility for gas and power invoicing and consumption, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant invoicing and commission processes. In this key role you will effectively balance operational team management with analysis across invoicing, exceptions, broker commissions and consumption analysis. You’ll drive data quality, revenue assurance and customer outcomes and play a key part in strengthening governance, improving processes and optimising the order‑to‑cash cycle across the business.
What Will You Do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for invoicing and consumption teams, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant billing, broker commissions, and consumption reporting across gas and power portfolios.
- Own and optimise end‑to‑end invoicing and consumption processes, including bill runs, exception management, reconciliations, and data validation, to protect revenue and improve customer outcomes.
- Establish strong governance, controls, and performance reporting to ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement in data quality and process efficiency.
- Lead system and automation enhancements in partnership with IT and data teams to improve scalability, resilience, and insight across billing and consumption operations.
- Develop team capability through coaching, performance management, and succession planning, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
What Will You Bring
- Proven experience in a leadership role, with the ability to guide, support and develop teams.
- Previous experience in billing or data analysis within the energy sector or another regulated industry (desirable).
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups and advanced formulas.
- Familiarity with SQL or other data‑querying tools (desirable).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and deliver actionable insights.
- Experience managing and analysing large datasets, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work confidently at all levels both internally and externally, and to explain industry‑specific concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders.
