Are you ready to launch your career in data engineering? We’re looking for a motivated Junior or Graduate Data Engineer to join our Digital & Data team. We also welcome applications from Software Developers.

In this role, you’ll help build and maintain data pipelines, support cloud-based data platforms, and work with modern Microsoft technologies including Azure Synapse, ADLS Gen2 and Microsoft Fabric. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical foundations who is keen to learn, grow and make an impact in a collaborative environment.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range £30,000 to £38,000 pa (dependent on experience) with these great benefits:

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and optimise data pipelines to ensure reliable, timely data integration.
  • Support existing Azure Synapse and ADLS Gen2 data architecture and help improve performance and stability.
  • Build and enhance data transformation processes to improve data quality and usability.
  • Assist with data modelling to support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Contribute to the transition towards a modern Microsoft Fabric-based data platform.
  • Work closely with development teams and stakeholders to deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
  • Create clear technical documentation and support continuous improvement across the data estate.

Skills and Experience

  • A degree, or equivalent experience, in a relevant subject such as Computer Science, Software Development, Mathematics or Data Science.
  • Knowledge of T-SQL and Python.
  • An understanding of data engineering fundamentals and data quality principles.
  • Familiarity with data modelling concepts such as star schema or snowflake models is desirable.
  • Aware of source control and development practices, such as Git or Azure DevOps, is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities effectively.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with others.
