Custody Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Custody Support Worker to join our CFO Evolution team and support individuals in custody throughout their sentence. The role involves engaging and assessing participants, providing one‑to‑one and group support, and focusing on pre‑release planning to facilitate smooth reintegration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet individual performance targets and contribute towards meeting team performance targets in line with contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with volunteer peer mentors and/or mentors to manage caseloads and connect participants with resources for housing, substance use, physical and mental health.
  • Participate in a learning environment that encourages skill development and sharing of best practice.
  • Ensure effective case‑management and risk coordination, with a focus on safeguarding adults and children. Notify the Probation Service of any changes in risk and adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Meet all contractual targets.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Desirable: IAG Level 3 qualification.
  • Desirable: Experience managing a caseload of participants.
  • Knowledge of inputting and retrieving electronic data and maintaining computer‑based information systems accurately and timely. Experience in a target‑driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, non‑verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate to people at all levels.
  • Ability to motivate and sustain engagement of individuals.

  • Location: HMP Channings Wood.
  • Hours: 37 hours per week.
  • Contract type: Permanent.
