Community Support Worker (Weston Super Mare)
We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated individual to join our team as a Community Support Worker. You’ll support a caseload of participants in a community setting from initial assessment through to completion of their sentence, providing guidance, encouragement and tailored support to help them overcome challenges, reintegrate into society and build brighter futures. We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including health and social care, mental health, youth work, housing services, substance misuse recovery, community volunteering and newly graduated students from criminal justice or related fields.
In return for your dedication you will receive a competitive salary of £25,877 - £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience) and the following benefits:

Key Responsibilities
- Meet individual performance targets and contribute towards team targets in line with contractual requirements.
- Collaborate closely with volunteer peer mentors and/or mentors to manage your caseload more effectively and connect participants with resources for housing, substance use, physical and mental health, etc.
- Contribute, individually and as a team member, to a learning environment that enables colleagues to develop their skills and share best practice.
- Ensure effective case management and coordination of risk with a focus on safeguarding of adults and children, including timely notification of concerns to the Probation Service and adherence to systems, policies and procedures to support risk management.
- Ensure all contractual targets are met.
Skills and Experience
- IAG Level 3 – desirable
- Experience managing a caseload of participants – desirable
- Knowledge of inputting and retrieving electronic data and maintaining computer‑based information systems accurately and timely (target‑driven environment).
- Excellent verbal, non‑verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to relate to people at all levels and in a variety of settings.
- Ability to motivate and sustain engagement of individuals.
