We’re looking for a passionate Employability Trainer to deliver tailored classroom and virtual training that helps individuals build confidence, develop job‑search strategies, and secure sustainable employment. You’ll lead interactive sessions on interview techniques, job applications, and transferable skills, while designing impactful solutions such as mock interviews and sector‑specific preparation. The role also includes promoting training opportunities, supporting participant action plans, and ensuring compliance with quality and safeguarding standards.
Our ideal candidate has experience delivering employability and personal development training both face‑to‑face and online, strong digital skills, and a proactive approach to overcoming barriers faced by job seekers. In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we’re offering a competitive salary range £26,000 - £29,545 p.a. (pro rata, dependent on experience). Hours: 37 hours a week – Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions that develop participants’ employability skills and support progression into work
- Design and implement impactful training solutions tailored to individual and group learning needs
- Identify emerging training requirements and collaborate with content developers to shape new provision
- Meet performance targets and maintain excellence in quality and compliance standards
- Facilitate mock interviews, work preparation activities, and sector-specific training programmes
- Work collaboratively with wider training teams to respond to evolving participant needs
- Support employer engagement activity, including delivery of employer‑led events and sector‑based routeways
- Prepare participants for specific job opportunities through targeted, responsive training solutions
- Select and adapt facilitation methods to maximise engagement and learning outcomes; promote courses and enable Employment Advisers to effectively signpost and recruit participants
- Contribute to participant action planning to support sustainable employment outcomes
- Utilise appropriate digital tools to deliver training in secure, accessible learning environments
- Develop and deliver ‘train‑the‑trainer’ sessions to support internal capability and onboarding
- Contribute to corporate training initiatives and employee induction programmes
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure safe delivery environments (including classroom/livestream sessions) and maintain accurate, compliant documentation of all training activities
- Drive continuous improvement through feedback, self‑evaluation, and peer observations
- Actively promote safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity, and inclusion practices
- Ensure full compliance with organisational policies, data protection, and health & safety standards; demonstrate flexibility, ownership, and commitment to ongoing professional development
Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of the barriers unemployed job seekers face when seeking work (e.g., confidence, skills gaps, limited experience, personal circumstances)
- Solid knowledge of the employability sector, including delivering employability skills and personal development programmes
- Experience designing and delivering training both face‑to‑face and remotely using digital platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
- Proven ability to motivate and engage individuals using a range of coaching and facilitation techniques
- Highly IT literate, with proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and modern digital tools
- Experience working in a target‑driven, high‑performance environment
- Recognised teaching/training qualification (Level 3 AET/PTLLS or Level 4 CET/CTLLS)
- Experience delivering services in line with contractual targets and quality standards
- Ability to analyse training needs and report on delivery using IT systems
- Full UK driving licence
