Join us as a Volunteer Mentor at Interventions Alliance and play a key supporting role to the participants we work with (predominantly men over the age of 18 years). You will offer personalised, one-to-one support to help improve participants' lives, equipping them with the skills they need to progress in life and avoid being trapped in a cycle of criminality.

Our main focus is to grant access to education. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to build a better future, regardless of their past choices or the challenges they currently face.

Our ideal candidate will have lived experience of the Criminal Justice System and is now wishing to give back to the community. You must meet certain eligibility criteria, e.g., being substance abuse free for at least 6 months, complying with your order, and taking responsibility for your offending behaviour. If you don't have this experience, don't worry! We encourage volunteers from all walks of life to reflect the community we serve. You just need to be over the age of 18.

We need your excellent communication skills and empathetic ability to create and maintain effective relationships with our participants. You should be a positive role model and inspire, empower, and guide our participants to achieve their full potential.

In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we offer an extensive training programme to prepare you for the role. This includes both online and classroom training on topics such as:

  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Safeguarding children
  • Mental health awareness
  • Substance misuse
  • And more
