We are looking for an Assistant Employment Adviser to support participants in finding and sustaining employment. Working alongside Employment Advisers, you will provide direct support by guiding job searches, identifying development opportunities, and organising job‑club activities. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and offer on‑the‑job training. Key Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed personal performance targets (KPIs) and customer service standards while ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Make initial outbound welcome calls and handle any participant concerns.
  • Conduct welcome/introduction meetings for individuals or small groups face‑to‑face or via phone/video call, gather identification evidence and complete DWP administration.
  • Undertake initial assessments, identify potential barriers, update records and book follow‑up meetings with Employment Advisers.
  • Organise and conduct job search or job‑club activity on a 1‑to‑1 or group basis: prepare CVs, support applications, promote relevant opportunities, and reverse‑market participants to employers.
  • Provide telephone and online support to a caseload of in‑work participants.
  • Provide regular reviews and ad‑hoc support to enable participants to maintain employment, ensuring quality workplace support.
  • Work with Employment Advisers to ensure in‑work plans are in place and review SMART development targets.
  • Develop an understanding of specialist signposting services and build knowledge in areas such as disabilities, housing, and benefits.
  • Source suitable job opportunities in the local labour market and support employer engagement events and bulk vacancy campaigns.
  • Undertake direct marketing to employers using email, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Provide pre‑employment support (travel planning, work wear, etc.) and maintain ongoing support after placement.
  • Support exit reporting as participants leave the programme.
  • Proactively participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance customer service.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Good knowledge of the local labour market in the specified geographical location.
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade C or above.
  • Fully IT literate in Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Skype for Business and other digital technologies.
  • Experience working in a target‑driven environment.
  • Experience delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the employability industry.
  • Experience working with people in the provision of information, advice & guidance.
  • Full driving licence to enable deployment across a specified region.

Location and Hours

Office‑based role in Swindon. 37 hours a week – Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
