Are you interested in autonomous drones — and enjoy working in the field as much as working with technology? At sees.ai, we are redefining how autonomous drones operate at scale. Our systems enable complex, beyond-visual-line-of-sight missions inspecting critical national infrastructure — safely, repeatedly, and commercially. This is real-world deployment of advanced autonomous capability, delivered in close collaboration with regulators and industry partners.

We’re expanding our operations team and are keen to hear from people who have some hands-on drone experience — whether through university projects, early career roles, or personal flying — and who want to apply that experience in real operational environments. Applicants must be based in the UK, hold a full UK manual driving licence, and have the unrestricted right to work in the UK.

The Role

This is not a traditional “on the sticks” flying role. Our drones are operated through computer-based control systems, real-time dashboards, and autonomous workflows. Success depends on your ability to:

  • Operate confidently through software interfaces
  • Think systematically
  • Plan thoroughly
  • Make sound decisions in dynamic field conditions

You’ll split your time between field deployments across the UK and planning/preparation work at our Chichester base.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operating advanced autonomous drone missions via computer interfaces
  • Supporting the planning and execution of infrastructure inspections
  • Coordinating operational logistics, including site access, weather analysis, travel, accommodation, and contingencies
  • Capturing and validating inspection data
  • Working closely with engineers to provide structured operational feedback
  • Maintaining high safety standards in all environments

Who This Role Is Suited To

This role suits people who:

  • Have some hands-on drone flying experience (professional, academic, or hobbyist)
  • Are highly tech-literate and comfortable learning new systems
  • Enjoy working in real-world, field-based environments
  • Take a structured, methodical approach to planning and execution
  • Stay calm and focused when operating through screens and data feeds
  • Take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks

Extensive flight hours are not required. A systematic mindset, curiosity, and operational discipline matter more.

Essential Requirements

  • Based in the UK
  • Full UK manual driving licence
  • Unrestricted right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the UK
  • Some practical drone flying experience
  • Strong technology literacy
  • Confidence working independently in field-based roles
  • Clear communication skills

A GVC or commercial licence is not required at application stage.

Why Join sees.ai

  • Work at the forefront of autonomous aviation in the UK
  • Apply your drone experience in nationally significant operations
  • Gain hands-on exposure to advanced autonomous systems
  • Develop your operational and technical capability
  • Competitive salary based on experience

If you enjoy mastering technology, working outdoors, and approaching operations in a systematic, disciplined way, we’d love to hear from you.
