In this role, you will support the Registered Manager in all aspects of home management, taking the lead on shift to delegate tasks and ensure that all records and care plans meet high standards. You will lead care planning, reviews, and ensure compliance with Children's Home Regulations. As a mentor and guide, you will promote effective teamwork while managing staff inductions, supervisions, and appraisals. You will champion our young people by supporting their choices, encouraging independence, and responding to challenges with compassion and confidence. Additionally, you will liaise with professionals and agencies to provide holistic support, manage on-call duties, and consistently uphold company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead on shift to delegate tasks and ensure records and care plans meet high standards
- Lead care planning, reviews, and ensure compliance with Children's Home Regulations
- Mentor and guide to promote effective teamwork; manage staff inductions, supervisions, and appraisals
- Support young people by promoting choices, independence, and compassionate, confident responses to challenges
- Liaise with professionals and agencies to provide holistic support
- Manage on-call duties and uphold company policies
Location: Leyland, Preston; Pay: £15.50/hr + £60 sleep-in; Shifts: 2 on / 4 off
Qualifications:
- Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children & Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent
- At least 2 years' experience in a senior role within a children's residential setting
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
