Guild Care are seeking Deputy Managers to cover BOTH our Littlehampton & Rustington stores. Are you passionate about retail and making a difference in your local community? You will support the day-to-day running of our vibrant charity shops. This is a fantastic opportunity for those wanting extra hours or should you have enough retail experience to step into a leadership role and support a great cause while developing your retail and management skills. In this role, every day is different and your keen eye for detail and adaptability will really make a difference in people’s lives.
You will be required to provide cover to the manager who may be on annual leave, on sick leave or needs an extra pair of hands; you need to be flexible. This role includes working weekends (both Saturdays and Sundays). Store opening hours - Mon-Sat - 9am - 5pm | Sunday 10am - 4pm.

About the role
As Deputy Manager (BANK), you'll play a key part in supporting the Shop Manager and other deputies to ensure smooth daily operations and profitability of the shop. You’ll also be the go-to person during the manager’s absence and will be expected to provide full holiday cover, including weekend hours, when required.
You’ll assist in meeting sales targets, maintaining high visual and operational standards, supporting volunteers, and delivering outstanding customer service. This role also plays a crucial part in raising money for the amazing work that Guild Care do in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deputise for the Shop Manager and provide full holiday cover
- Assist in achieving income targets and maximising sales
- Help manage stock control, processing donations, and shop presentation
- Ensure accurate financial procedures including banking and cash handling
- Supervise, support, and motivate a team of dedicated volunteers
- Uphold excellent standards of customer service and shop cleanliness
- Attend relevant meetings and training as required
- Liaise with Furniture Scheme Manager for logistics of stock transfers
