Team Fee Pay (TFP) is one of the biggest grassroots football club management platforms in the UK.

We support over 2,000 football clubs and 250,000+ coaches, players, parents and guardians on the platform, and we're now expanding into Italy, Spain and the rest of Europe.

We're a scale-up growing rapidly, and marketing is core to that growth.

We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded Chief Marketing Officer to join our executive leadership team and own the marketing agenda across the business.

With an existing marketing team of five, you will manage that team and report directly to the CEO.

You will set the marketing vision and strategy, build and lead the marketing function, and be directly accountable for the brand growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion that underpins TFP's growth across the UK and Europe.

This role owns the marketing strategy and investment case end-to-end: aligning it with company objectives, accelerating our growth in European Saa S markets, and representing marketing at board level.

About our Marketing Function

As a member of the executive team, you'll work closely with the CRO, CFO, and fellow leadership across Sales, Product, and Customer Success, and you'll represent marketing directly to the Board, so this role sits at the centre of how TFP grows across our UK and European markets.

  • Sit on the executive leadership team, shaping and reporting on marketing's contribution to company strategy, revenue growth, and Board-level decision-making.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing organisation across brand, content, digital, product marketing, and partnership marketing.
  • Own the marketing budget and P&L contribution, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across channels, including investment in European market entry and expansion activity.
  • Demand Generation & Growth
  • Set the strategy for and oversee qualified pipeline generation through multi-channel campaigns (e. g., paid media, SEO, email, events), tailored to local market nuances across UK, Ireland, and other European markets, starting with Spain and Italy.
  • Partner with the Sales leadership team to align on lead quality, funnel metrics, and conversion strategies across all European markets.
  • Own the marketing contribution to growth within our existing club base, working alongside the Head of Customer Experience to deliver measurable improvements in net revenue retention and churn.
  • Oversee marketing automation and lead nurturing strategy to support efficient, scalable Saa S growth.
  • Brand & Positioning
  • Own and evolve the brand identity, messaging, and value proposition at a company level, ensuring relevance and resonance across diverse European markets and cultures.
  • Ensure consistent brand presence across all touchpoints, including website, social media, and collateral.
  • Act as a company spokesperson, leading PR, communications, and thought leadership initiatives that build credibility and visibility in the European Saa S and sports-tech space.
  • Product Marketing & Enablement
  • Partner with the Product leadership team to shape go-to-market strategy for new features and launches, including localisation for European markets.
  • Ensure the team produces compelling content and sales enablement materials that support customer acquisition and retention across multiple markets and languages.
  • Own market research and competitive intelligence to inform company-wide positioning and pricing strategy, with particular focus on European Saa S competitor landscapes.
  • Analytics & Performance
  • Own marketing performance reporting to the executive team and Board, including CAC, ROI, MQLs, and campaign performance benchmarked across UK and European markets.
  • Build a data-driven culture within marketing, using data to inform decisions, test hypotheses, and continuously improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Ensure the marketing technology stack is optimised for performance and scalability as the business grows across new European territories.
  • Executive & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work as a trusted partner to the CEO, CFO, and fellow executive leadership, including supporting fundraising, investor relations, and M&A activity where relevant.
  • Align the marketing strategy with Sales, Product, and Customer Success leadership, including shaping international and European expansion plans.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability across the organisation.

About the role

  • You should apply if
  • You have extensive experience in marketing leadership, including prior experience as a CMO, VP Marketing, or Head of Marketing with P&L accountability
  • You have experience operating at a senior leadership level, representing marketing at board meetings
  • You have proven experience scaling marketing within a Saa S business, with a strong understanding of Saa S growth models and metrics
  • You have demonstrable experience driving marketing-led growth in European markets, ideally across multiple countries or regions
  • You have significant experience managing digital campaigns and demand generation, and are proficient in using Linked In as a lead generation channel
  • You have excellent analytical and commercial skills, and can communicate confidently with a Board and executive audience
  • You're comfortable owning a budget and P&L, and making channel investment decisions with full accountability
  • You want to help shape how TFP grows its brand and customer base across the UK and Europe as part of the executive leadership team.
