What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operating machinery to produce concrete rings and civils products to required standards
  • Learning and applying full operational knowledge of the production process
  • Carrying out safe and accurate mould changes
  • Addressing faults and escalating major issues when needed
  • Keeping machinery clean and well-maintained
  • Safely moving products using forklifts, telehandlers, or cranes (training provided)
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping and following all H&S procedures

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the machinery to produce concrete rings and other civils products to exact measurements and quality standards.
  • Monitor machine performance and promptly report any mechanical issues or irregularities to the Team Leader or Supervisor.
  • Gain comprehensive operational knowledge of the production process and demonstrate proficiency in operating machinery.
  • Carry out mould changes on production equipment in accordance with company procedures, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and minimising downtime.
  • Accurately set up, secure, and align moulds to guarantee product quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to resolve any issues during mould changeover.
  • Address faults as they arise, escalate significant issues to the appropriate personnel, and follow all safety and environmental protocols associated with plant operations.
  • Perform regular cleaning of equipment and machinery to maintain optimal performance.
  • Safely move concrete products using plant machinery (e.g. Forklifts, telehandlers, cranes – training will be provided).
  • Ensure that workplace cleanliness is maintained and adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols.
  • Take personal responsibility for your own well-being and promptly report any concerns as required by company policy.
  • Proactively seek and suggest ideas for improvement and report them as a ‘Good Catch’.
  • Any other duties as required by management that are within your capability.

Required Criteria

  • Medically fit to undertake the physical requirements of the job.
  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team focused on maximising production.
  • Ability to work quickly to meet production deadlines.
  • Adherence to H&S and general housekeeping standards.
  • Flexible approach to work required, willingness to retrain and learn new skills.
  • Minimum of 6 GCSE's Grade A-C.

Desired Criteria

  • Previous experience of concrete products manufacturing.
  • At least 1 year’s previous forklift driving experience preferably within a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working in a maintenance capacity in a production environment.
