We're a leading health and social care provider seeking passionate individuals to support young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour in the community., As a Support Worker specialising in learning disabilities and complex needs, your key duties will include:

  • Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
  • Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
  • Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
  • Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
  • Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
  • Collaborating with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.
  • To be successful in this Learning Disability Support Worker role, you must have:

At least 12 months' experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.

  • PMVA training Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.

Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.

Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.

A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

  • Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation required)
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults)., First Aid training or equivalent., Confidence in using digital care planning systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a calm, resilient and professional attitude.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Desired criteria
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults or Children).
  • Current First Aid training.
