Location: Toome
Hours: 40hrs per week (Monday to Thursday 6.00am - 4.00pm)
Reports to: Maintenance and Masa Supervisor

Setting up, operating, and maintaining production machinery
Ensuring high-quality output and smooth-running processes
Troubleshooting issues to keep downtime to a minimum
Keeping things clean, safe, and efficient on the shop floor

About the role
KEY RESONSIBILITIES

Gain operational knowledge and be proficient in operation of the wet side area.This includes understanding all relevant systems, controls, and procedures associated with the wet side area to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to continuously improve wet side operations and support troubleshooting efforts whenrequired.

Carry outmouldchanges on brick and paving production equipmentin accordance withcompany procedures, ensuring all safety protocols are followed andminimisingdowntime. Accurately set up, secure, and alignmouldsto guarantee product quality and consistency. Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to resolve any issues duringmouldchangeover, and ensure tools and parts are cleaned and stored properly after each change.

Address faults as they arise, elevate significant issues to the appropriate personnel, and follow all safety and environmental protocols associated with plant operations.

Perform regular cleaning of equipment and machinery to maintain optimal performance and prevent build-up of dust, debris, or product residue.

Operate forklifts as required, provided the appropriate license is held.

Ensure that workplace cleanliness is maintained and adheres strictly to all health and safety protocols. Take personal responsibility for your own well-being and promptly report any concerns as required by company policy.

Proactively seek and suggest ideas for improvement—whether related to health and safety, business processes, or cost-saving measures—and report them as a ‘Good Catch’.

Any other duties as required by management that are within your capability. (You will also be required to perform Grade 1 and 2 tasks, such as quality control, strapping, and wrapping, operation of KBH machine and dry side, whenever needed).
