In this role, you will provide a therapeutic, person-centred approach to supporting an individual with complex needs in their own home. The focus is on promoting independence while ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing at all times. The individual receives 2:1 support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your key duties will include:
- Supporting with all aspects of daily living, including personal care
- Supporting with eating and preparing meals
- Maintaining a clean and safe home environment
- Supporting the individual to access the community and attend education
- Supporting an individual who uses a wheelchair, while encouraging and assisting them to walk short distances with staff support where appropriate
- Taking the time to understand the individual's communication methods, as they are non-verbal
- Providing appropriate support for partial sight, helping the individual safely access and engage with the world around them
- Supporting with medication administration
- Building a positive, consistent and trusting relationship with the individual
- Promoting independence, dignity and choice
- Maintaining accurate digital care plans, risk assessments and incident reports
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, family members and relevant professionals to provide consistent, safe and effective care
Shift Pattern
The service operates Monday to Sunday on a rolling 3 days on, 3 days off or 4 days on, 4 days off rota. You will work a mixture of:
- Day shifts: 08:00-20:00
- Night shifts: 20:00-08:00
There are regular opportunities for overtime to provide cover for annual leave and sickness absence.

Required Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of 12 months' experience supporting individuals with complex care needs
- Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities and learning disabilities
- Experience providing personal care and supporting with daily living
- Confidence supporting individuals with communication needs
- Confidence using digital care planning systems
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, compassionate and professional attitude
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Eligibility to work in the UK, NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults or Children)
- Current First Aid training
- Experience supporting wheelchair users
- Experience supporting individuals with visual impairments
- Experience supporting individuals who are non-verbal
- Medication administration experience, Confidence in using digital care planning systems.
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, resilient and professional attitude.
- A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.

- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults or Children).
- Current First Aid training.
