Marketing Assistant (maternity cover)
Overview:
Dennison Commercials Ltd is the sole Volvo Truck & Bus dealer and the leading provider of heavy commercial vehicles in Northern Ireland. Encompassing Dennison JCB, we are also the official JCB dealer for construction, industrial and access equipment and generators in Northern Ireland and Donegal.
We have an exciting opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join our busy marketing team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This role is ideal for a recent graduate, undergraduate placement student or someone looking to start their career in marketing. You'll gain hands‑on experience across digital marketing, social media, website management, content creation, events and graphic design while working with a well‑established family business representing globally recognised brands.
Location:
The role will be based at our Head Office in Ballyclare. Occasional travel to our regional depots may be required on an ad hoc basis.
Hours:
This is a full time position working 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday.

About the role
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with the day‑to‑day delivery of marketing activities across the Dennison Group.
- Create engaging content for social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Schedule social media posts and monitor engagement across our platforms.
- Assist with photography and video creation for marketing campaigns and social media.
- Update and maintain company websites, including uploading vehicle and machinery stock, products and marketing content.
- Assist with email marketing campaigns, including building, scheduling and reporting on campaigns.
- Produce marketing materials such as flyers, posters, brochures and digital graphics using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
- Support the planning and delivery of exhibitions, customer events and internal company events.
- Help maintain brand consistency across all marketing materials and communications.
- Liaise with internal departments to gather content, images and information for marketing activities.
- Support general marketing administration, including ordering promotional merchandise and maintaining marketing assets.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Marketing Manager.

As well as being one of the longest established Volvo Truck & Bus dealers in the UK and Ireland, Dennisons is also the appointed JCB dealer in Northern Ireland & Donegal for JCB construction, industrial, and access equipment.
The Dennison Group has depots based in Ballyclare, Newry, Dungannon, and Coleraine. We also have a Commercial Vehicle Bodyshop located in Ballyclare and our JCB dealership is located in Templepatrick.
Required Criteria
- Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a qualification in Business, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design or a related subject.
- Experience creating marketing content using Canva, with a good eye for design and branding.
- Basic video editing skills for social media content.
- Experience using website content management systems (CMS) or Shopify/Wix/WordPress, with confidence updating website content.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Creative, enthusiastic and willing to learn.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desired Criteria
- Previous marketing, administrative or customer service experience, including part‑time work, internships or university projects.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop).
- Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp.
- Experience assisting with events or exhibitions.
- An interest in photography, videography and content creation.
