RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage end-to-end hiring processes across multiple functions, from briefing to offer and onboarding.
  • Build hiring plans with managers; advise on role profiles and market availability.
  • Source candidates directly through job boards, LinkedIn, networks, recruiters and proactive outreach.
  • Coordinate interviews and selection processes.
  • Maintain accurate candidate tracking and reporting.
  • Support development of talent pipelines (internal and external) for recurring or strategic roles.
  • Represent the company at university and early-career events to raise awareness of career opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with universities, careers services and student organisations.
  • Support the development and promotion of internship, graduate and early-career programmes.
  • Onboarding and Induction
  • Manage offer, contract, and employment documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely issue.
  • Own and coordinate the end-to-end onboarding and induction process, acting as the primary HR point of contact for new starters through probation.
  • Ensure all pre-employment checks, system access, and onboarding logistics (IT, facilities, line manager briefings, and welcome materials) are completed on time.
  • Deliver or support structured HR inductions covering policies, culture, values, and ways of working.
  • Partner with hiring managers to implement effective role-specific onboarding and induction plans.
  • Monitor probation periods, supporting managers with reviews and ensuring timely completion and documentation.
  • Oversee related transactional HR processes, including onboarding, probation, and terminations.
  • Continuously review and improve onboarding processes, gathering feedback to enhance new starter experience, retention, and employer brand.
  • HR Advisory & Operations
  • Provide first-line employee relations advice on policies, performance, absence, and conduct.
  • Support managers in informal and formal HR cases, escalating where needed.
  • Maintain HR systems and ensure data integrity, reporting and GDPR compliance.
  • Provide payroll information and changes to HR Admin.
  • Support engagement initiatives, surveys, and people-focused communications.
  • Projects & Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to HR and hiring process improvements, templates, and policy updates.
  • Support initiatives across talent, performance, DE&I, learning and development, and workforce planning.
  • Assist with reporting (e.g. hiring metrics, turnover, probation success, workforce data).
  • Monitor market trends and competitor hiring insights to inform decision-making.
  • Support with various people-related projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the HR team, sharing knowledge and supporting the team in rolling out projects.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in in-house recruitment and HR advisory roles (typically 2–5 years).
  • Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing multiple hiring processes concurrently.
  • Confident advising managers and building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable handling confidential information and sensitive employee matters.
  • Systems-literate (ATS/HRIS, LinkedIn Recruiter, MS Office).
