We pride ourselves on supplying our distributors with world-class marketing strategies and materials to support their sales efforts.

Purpose of the Role

To take ownership of the company's performance across our online trading platforms — Amazon, RS Components, Farnell, CPC, CEF Online, Screwfix, and Toolstation — improving listings, content, pricing, and advertising efficiency across the full portfolio. The role exists because the business currently lacks in-house expertise to fully understand and act on how these platforms operate and is not currently maximising the commercial opportunity they represent, particularly on Amazon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Platform Management
    • Own day-to-day management of our accounts across all online trading platforms, prioritising effort based on commercial return per channel.
    • Maintain accurate, consistent product data and catalogue content across all platforms.
    • Optimise listings and content for each platform's specific format and ranking logic — titles, images, technical specifications, A+ content (Amazon), and trade-specific documentation (B2B platforms).
    • Manage pricing and promotional strategy across channels, protecting margin while remaining competitive.
    • Monitor account health, compliance, and reviews/reputation across all platforms.
    • Benchmark competitor activity across platforms and turn findings into action (pricing, content, promotions).
  • Advertising & Growth
    • Plan and manage paid advertising where available (e.g. Amazon Sponsored Products/Brands), monitoring spend efficiency and ROI.
    • Identify and act on growth opportunities across the full platform portfolio, not just Amazon.
    • Build a clear picture of where we are underperforming vs. competitors on each platform and recommend a strategy to close the gap.
  • Capability Building
    • Identify and elevate training needs (own or team's) to build genuine in-house digital platform expertise over time.
    • Bring or develop platform-specific knowledge (e.g. Amazon Seller/Vendor Central, trade platform account structures) and share it internally.
  • Cross-functional
    • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to align product content, promotions, pricing, and stock availability across all channels.
    • Report regularly on multi-platform performance (sales, ad spend, conversion, ranking) to leadership.

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience managing product listings and performance across at least one major online marketplace or B2B trading platform.
  • Practical understanding of how digital platforms rank and surface products (search/ranking logic, content optimisation).
  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with sales and performance data, including Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
  • Excellent written skills for content/listing optimisation.
  • Confident working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Genuine curiosity and willingness to learn multiple platforms rather than specialise narrowly in one.

Desirable

  • Experience in a B2B, trade, or industrial/technical product environment (electrical, tools, or similar).
  • Specific experience with Amazon Seller/Vendor Central and Amazon Advertising.
  • Experience with other B2B/trade platforms (RS Components, Farnell, CPC, CEF Online, Screwfix, Toolstation, or similar).
  • Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to speed up content, ad copy, or data analysis work.
  • Amazon Advertising certification or equivalent platform-specific training.

Personal attributes

  • Self-starter, comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity while structures are built out.
  • Happy to train/upskill or bring existing expertise and share it internally.
  • Commercially minded — sees the role as growth-driving across the whole platform portfolio, not just Amazon-focused or purely administrative.
