Reporting directly to the Production Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role where you will have genuine influence over shop-floor performance, team culture, and operational standards. Operating on a Monday to Friday night shift schedule, you will coordinate daily production activities, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily production activities and effectively allocate workforce resources across the night shift
  • Lead, coach, and actively support production employees on the shop floor
  • Monitor workflow, equipment performance, and process bottlenecks to ensure seamless operations
  • Ensure daily production targets, delivery requirements, and strict quality standards are consistently achieved
  • Strict implementation of GMP and CCPs and support quality control activities, including routine testing, inspections, and maintaining strict process discipline
  • Investigate production issues or quality variances and implement effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant, focusing on safety, productivity, quality, and waste reduction
  • Track, analyze, and report on key production performance indicators to the Production Manager
  • Train, coach, and cross-skill employees to build a flexible and capable operational workforce
  • Document and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions, and training documentation

About you

  • Able to work around raw animal byproducts
  • Proven experience as a Leading Hand, Shift Supervisor, or Senior Operator within a manufacturing, processing, or rendering environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage a team on the shop floor
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing KPIs, quality control processes, and workplace health and safety standards
  • Hands-on problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisive operational calls during a night shift
  • Experience in developing SOPs, conducting on-the-job training, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
