The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.
This opportunity is offered on the basis of a 12‑month secondment/fixed‑term contract with the possible opportunity for extension. Location: Windsor office. The successful candidate will be comfortable commuting to Windsor on a weekly basis and to other locations as may be required, including Reading and London Paddington.
Key Accountabilities
- Own and administer our group‑wide environmental data collection systems and reporting processes
- Lead routine data reviews and quality checks, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and readiness for annual external assurance
- Contribute to high‑profile external disclosures, including Centrica’s Annual Report & Accounts, Data Centre and CDP submissions
- Support senior leaders and our Board with clear, compelling environmental performance insights
- Help ensure compliance with emerging ESG legislation and standards, including CSRD and ISSB
- Recruit and line‑manage Year‑in‑Industry students, helping grow the next generation of sustainability talent
- Partner with business units to shape and deliver their environmental performance plans
- Bring colleagues on our sustainability journey by supporting engagement programmes, communications and events
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience of greenhouse gas accounting and an understanding of environmental impacts
- Strong data analysis, interpretation and problem‑solving skills
- A degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
- A genuine passion for the environment and sustainability
- Strong numerical and analytical capability
- Confidence using MS Office, especially Excel
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication
- Comfort working with a variety of software systems
- A balance of independent working and strong team collaboration
- Excellent organisation and time‑management
- The adaptability to grow in a rapidly evolving field
