The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, tech-minded and accountancy / finance graduate to join our growing team.

You’ll be working in the R&D Tax Credits area of our Customer Experience team.

Around 90,000 R&D claims are submitted in the UK every year, and this is a constantly evolving area of tax.

Seed Legals is supporting UK startups to process their R&D claims with efficiency and ease, and we are looking for someone to join our team.

In the role, you’ll guide companies on their R&D eligibility, answer their daily queries (via, email and Zoom), help them build robust R&D tax credit claims, including assisting in drafting their Technical Narratives, reviewing their accounts and working closely with our R&D team and tax specialists.

Your annual starting salary would be between £33,000 - £43,000 depending on your experience.

We’re searching for someone who may come from a background in an accountancy firm or has graduated with a finance or accounting based degree but does not want to follow the typical accounting route.

  • You should be able to demonstrate experience/interest in the following areas:
  • Accountancy, Tax or Finance background.
  • Financial statements & tax computations.
  • Financial planning and tax incentives for founders and early stage employees.
  • Building and growing early stage startups.

To have a genuine passion for entrepreneurship and innovation, and are excited by the opportunity to interact with startup founders every day.

Experience in the following areas would be beneficial

  • Previous experience in R&D Tax Credits.
  • Interest in science or tech industries (e. g. one member of our team has a pharmaceutical background).
  • Technical skills, such as knowledge in software development.
  • Knowledge in bookkeeping softwares e. g. Xero, Quickbooks.
  • Some experience writing reports.
