Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and diligent stores person and driver to join a busy engineering business in Bedford MK41 9TJ

Duties

  • Assist in stock management, organisation of stock and MRP system [training will be given to the successful candidate]
  • Operate company vehicles for deliveries, including counter balance fork lift trucks, ensuring safe handling at all times
  • Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, adhering to schedules and safety protocols
  • Conduct vehicle inspections prior to deliveries to ensure mechanical safety and compliance
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding stock levels, delivery schedules.
  • Support warehouse operations by loading, unloading, and organising stock as required
  • Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness within the workshop and company vehicles

Requirements

  • Valid driver\’s licence with experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver along with current counter balance FLT licence [those who have recently expired will also be considered
  • Proven experience in warehouse work or delivery roles is preferred, use of MRP software desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Strong communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members
  • Experience operating 3.5t curtain side vehicles is desirable
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Organised with excellent time management skills to coordinate deliveries efficiently
  • Physical fitness to handle loading, unloading, and long periods of standing or driving
