Role Description: Optometry Administrative Assistant (6 month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Home based with a requirement to attend Leatherhead office once a week
Hours: 18.75 hours weekly (6.25 hours a day over Monday, Thursday and Friday - negotiable)
Contract type: 6 month Fixed Term Contract - Long Term Sickness Cover
Salary: 18.75hrs pro rata of FTE £23800 - £12.21ph

About us: Registered as The Royal School for the Blind, SeeAbility is one of the oldest disability charities in the UK and has pioneered specialist support for over 225 years. SeeAbility run a special schools eye care service across 30 schools/sites in London, providing eye tests and glasses.
About you: The Optometry Administrative Assistant will be part of an administrative team who support the clinical teams working out in the school, based at home but required in our Leatherhead head office when needed. The Optometry Administrative Assistant will be responsible for collecting and securely storing sensitive health information, using a secure digital practice management system (Full training will be given, enhanced cleared DBS required).
Key responsibilities:
- Managing incoming enquiries by phone and email from parents and schools
- Planning clinics, distributing consent/eye care history forms and appointment letters
- Securely storing completed consent/eye care history forms
- Additional duties as required by the administrative assistants & eye care service manager
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able to maintain discretion and confidentiality
- Must be able to work independently as will be the main point of contact for special schools enquiries
Reporting to: Noopur Patel - Special Schools Service Manager
Start Date: Immediate start is desirable
