I live independently in Herne Bay with support from SeeAbility, and I'm looking for caring, calm and confident Support Workers to join my team. This is an opportunity to build a meaningful relationship and support me to live the life I choose. I enjoy shopping, relaxing at home and learning new skills. I value people who are kind, dependable, and have a good sense of humour. Sometimes I need extra reassurance or space, so patience, understanding and consistency are important. You’ll be supported by an experienced team, including behaviour support specialists, to help you succeed.
Shift pattern:
- Monday waking night
- Tuesday waking night
- Wednesday waking night
- Alternate Friday late shift
- Alternate Sunday early shift
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting me with daily routines and activities I enjoy
- Encouraging my independence, confidence and life skills
- Following personalised behaviour support plans
- Helping to create a calm and positive home environment
- Building a trusting and supportive relationship with me
About you:
We're looking for someone who is calm, resilient, caring and reliable. To be considered, you’ll need experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Supporting autistic people and people with learning disabilities
- Mental health services or acute treatment units
- Positive Behaviour Support
- Trauma-informed support
- Supporting physical behaviours that challenge
- Providing compassionate support in complex situations
Experience supporting someone moving from an Assessment and Treatment Unit to supported living would be an advantage.
