Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Salary: £14.48 per hour plus benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis. Please note, the shifts may vary due to the needs of the person we support)

Contract: Full time, Permanent

What You’ll Need

  • Strong English communication skills (spoken & written)
  • QCF in Health & Social Care level 2 diploma (or equivalent) and willingness to undertake a level 3 in Health & Social Care; demonstrate reasonable knowledge of regulatory standards for supported/residential living
  • Previous experience in a care/support setting
  • A valid UK driving licence (optional)
  • The legal right to live and work in the UK

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead by example, being professional, patient and calm under pressure – support daily routines from morning to bedtime
  • Supervise daily outputs and assist the manager in managing staff performance, development and appraisals
  • Ensure people you assist and their families are treated with respect, dignity and equality
  • Work in accordance with SeeAbility’s values

Who You’ll Be Supporting

John* – a vibrant individual with complex needs moving into a specially adapted home. He loves going out every Friday for KFC, trips to cafés, driving, listening to classical music, Disney films, colouring, and outdoor fun such as trampolining and swings in the garden. Routine is very important to him. *Real name has been changed to protect personal confidentiality.

You’ll be making a real impact with people who have learning disabilities (including communication tools such as Makaton or PECs), autism and/or visual impairments, and those experiencing highly challenging behaviour where Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies apply.

Please note: From January 2026 to the end of March 2026 you will need to travel to Birmingham (B38 area) during the transition before moving to Drayton, Abingdon in April 2026. Travel will be paid.
