Project Proposals Engineer in Birmingham

What You'll Be Doing

As a Project Proposals Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming customer requirements into compelling technical and commercial proposals that support our ambitious growth plans.

You'll work closely with Sales, Applications, Engineering, and Project teams to develop intelligent, innovative solutions that deliver real value for our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing high-quality technical and commercial proposals for complex automated packaging and processing solutions.
• Developing layout drawings, system designs, technical descriptions, and supporting documentation.
• Contributing to the development of bespoke engineering solutions that enhance Ishida's technical capabilities and strengthen our market-leading position.
• Reviewing customer requirements and User Requirement Specifications (URS) to ensure proposals fully meet expectations.
• Producing accurate equipment, integration, and implementation costings.
• Identifying risks, assumptions, opportunities, and recommendations within proposals.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure technical, commercial, and operational alignment.
• Supporting customer meetings, site surveys, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), pre-delivery inspections, and project kick-offs where required.
• Maintaining accurate information within Dynamics 365 CRM and supporting stage-gate governance processes.
• Assisting with project handovers to ensure seamless transition from proposal to delivery.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Degree qualified in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Valid Passport and willingness to travel when required.
• Strong technical writing and proposal development skills.
• Experience creating and interpreting technical drawings and layouts.
• Working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD.
• Understanding of food manufacturing and FMCG production environments.
• Excellent planning, organisation, and project coordination skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines.

Desirable

• Experience within a design, engineering, projects, or proposals environment.
• SolidWorks 3D CAD experience.
• Additional language skills.
• Experience working with automated production, packaging, or processing systems.
