Main Purpose of the role
The role holder is accountable for supporting the achievement of Ishida Europe’s order intake targets through the delivery of accurate, timely, and commercially robust proposal outputs, aligned to defined processes and governance.
Deliver high-quality, accurate, and complete proposal outputs aligned to agreed technical and commercial scope. Ensure timely delivery of all proposal activities in line with business priorities and customer expectations. Maintain full compliance with defined processes, governance standards, and data integrity requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
The role holder is responsible for contributing to the successful conversion of opportunities into orders by delivering high-quality proposal outputs aligned to customer requirements and business expectations.
- Develop accurate and complete proposal content aligned to defined technical solutions and customer requirements.
- Prepare and maintain layout drawings, system descriptions, and supporting technical documentation.
- Ensure alignment between Applications inputs and proposal outputs, including scope, performance assumptions, and system design.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure all required inputs are captured, validated, and reflected correctly.
- Review customer User Requirement Specifications (URS) and ensure the proposal content is aligned to customer requests.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost sheets covering equipment, integration, and implementation activities.
- Support commercial submissions by providing clear and structured cost and scope information.
- Identify and highlight risks, assumptions, and exclusions that may impact cost or delivery.
- Manage assigned workload to ensure timely delivery of proposals in line with agreed priorities and deadlines.
- Support Sales teams with responsive and proactive handling of enquiries and quotation requests.
- Monitor progress of assigned opportunities and escalate risks to delivery timelines where required.
- Ensure all activities are completed in line with defined processes, governance requirements, and standard templates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within CRM systems (Dynamics 365), including opportunities, quotations, and customer interactions.
- Support stage-gate requirements by ensuring all necessary documentation (costs, risks, assumptions) is complete and available.
- Support the transition from proposal to order by ensuring all technical and commercial documentation is complete and accurate.
- Assist in the preparation of handover packs for Project teams, ensuring clarity of scope, assumptions, and deliverables.
- Support internal and external meetings where required, including customer sales visits, site surveys, FATs, PDIs, and project kick-offs.
What skills are we looking for?
The successful candidate must have a degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, along with a full UK driving licence and valid passport. You will have strong technical and sales writing skills in a third-person narrative, with a competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and 2D AutoCAD, including a clear understanding of technical layout drawings.
A good understanding of the food industry and FMCG production systems is essential, alongside the ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple enquiries effectively. You will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, a strong ability to problem solve, and a proven track record of delivering against objectives. Fluency in English is required.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a design, project, or proposal environment, with additional skills in SolidWorks 3D CAD and fluency in another language being advantageous. You will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and action-focused, with strong planning and prioritisation skills. A driven individual with a results-oriented mindset, you will possess strong interpersonal skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work collaboratively while maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
