Role Purpose

Working closely with the Head of Personal Tax and other team members, you will be responsible for delivering a world class personal tax compliance service to clients.

Role Objectives

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, including high net-worth individuals, directors and sole traders.
  • Preparing self-assessment tax returns, acting as the first point of contact for queries and ongoing advice, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Completion of self-employed accounts and schedules of income from property.
  • Completion of a portfolio of forms P11D and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Assisting with MTD for Income Tax submissions for relevant clients.
  • Demonstration of knowledge with regards to tax credits, tax codes, gift aid relief claims for charities and dealing with HMRC Compliance.
  • Working closely with the corporation tax compliance team to obtain information required to complete clients’ self-assessment tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC deadlines and regulations.
  • Handle correspondence with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities across income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, remuneration planning, property income, and pensions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Newly qualified ATT/CTA with a minimum of four years’ experience in a Private Practice Tax environment.
  • Confident in dealing with clients at all levels, excellent communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills to write in various styles as required.
  • Technically strong with a passion for knowledge and the ability to think creatively.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
  • Ensure work is completed in line with internal procedures and risk standards.
  • Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proactive and commercially aware.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable with Networking and Business Development.
