We do this by working with our clients to transform their business and personal finances, connecting with the business community, and working closely with the Sedulo Foundation. We embrace a holistic and innovative culture with diversity and integrity at its heart, ensuring our environment is open, inclusive, and a great place to develop your career. Alongside our focus on delivering beyond expectation, our events team ensures we have a lot of fun—with countless wellbeing activities and office events hosted every week.

The Opportunity & Role

We are breaking the traditional, siloed financial planning model. At Sedulo, we operate in Adviser Pods. As an Adviser Support professional, you will be embedded directly within a dedicated pod working alongside three Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs). This is not a back-office processing factory. You will be a core technical partner, getting up close to the clients, their objectives, and the advice process. Because we build this role around the individual, we offer two distinct career pathways depending on your professional ambitions:

  • The IFA Pathway: Designed for those who want to transition into a regulated adviser role. You will build deep relationships with the pod’s clients, phase into client-facing work, and naturally inherit clients as you transition into a Trainee IFA role.
  • The Expert Technical Pathway: Designed for career paraplanners who love the technical architecture of financial planning but do not want to be advisers. You will become the technical director of your pod, mastering complex cash-flow modelling, advanced tax planning, and structuring bespoke advice, with a clear path to Senior Paraplanner or Technical Lead.

Role Specifics & Key Responsibilities

As an Adviser Support professional within your pod, a typical week involves:

  • Technical Partnership: Working hand-in-hand with your pod's IFAs to undertake market research, conduct financial modelling, and prepare draft suitability reports.
  • Client Relationship Management: Dealing with client queries in an efficient and timely manner, acting as a key technical point of contact, and ensuring updates or reports are issued seamlessly.
  • Portfolio Management: Reviewing client investment portfolios, asset allocations, and risk profiles when requested to ensure they align with client objectives.
  • Implementation: Preparing required documentation, completing application/proposal forms, and making instructed changes to a client’s investment portfolio.
  • File Maintenance & Compliance: Collecting relevant information to support recommendations, maintaining ongoing compliant client files, and strictly adhering to FCA regulations, internal T&C, AML, and data protection policies.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications: Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (CII) or equivalent; or actively working towards completion.

Mindset: A positive culture attitude with a desire to deliver beyond expectation, learn the commercial realities of advice, and actively progress your career.

Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, general IT proficiency, and the ability to compile comprehensive, technically accurate reports.

What We Offer

We are committed to supporting our people both professionally and personally with a highly competitive benefits package:

  • Holiday: 26 days’ holiday per year (including your birthday as a paid day off), plus all public bank holidays and two paid volunteering days.
  • Flexible & Hybrid Working: Core hours between 10am and 4pm, with the option to work remotely for up to 20% of your working week. You can also work abroad for up to one month per year and flex up to 2 UK bank holidays to suit your beliefs.
  • Financial Security: Royal London pension scheme, free access to financial and mortgage advice, life insurance cover, and income protection from day one.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Access to discounted health, wellbeing, and retail benefits through Help@Hand, Medicash, and Zest.
  • Learning & Development: Continuous professional and personal development opportunities to support your chosen career path.
  • Culture & Perks: Access to exclusive members’ club facilities (including complimentary breakfast/refreshments), regular social events, our annual Christmas trip abroad, and access to the Octopus EV salary sacrifice scheme.
