It’s a position suited to someone who values technical variety, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in seeing tenders develop into successful, live projects. You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team where initiative is encouraged, and where the structured approach of a larger contractor is balanced with the agility and personal touch of a specialist business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions for civil, utilities, and infrastructure works
- Review drawings, specifications, and ground investigation data to assess scope and risk
- Work with design, delivery, and operational teams to refine methodology and pricing
- Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Maintain cost databases and benchmarking information
- Identify commercial and technical risks and recommend mitigation measures
- Support bid reviews, negotiations, and pre-contract handovers
What We’re Looking For
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management
- Experience in estimating within civil engineering, utilities, remediation, or earthworks
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of cost and risk management
- Confident user of estimating software and Excel
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required
