You will be part of an experienced HSE team, working closely with site management to maintain standards, improve behaviours, and ensure safe delivery across the scheme. This is a hands-on position, focused on site engagement rather than paperwork. You will be visible on site, working directly with operatives, supervisors, and management.

  • Coaching operatives and supervisors on safe systems of work
  • Carrying out site inspections and audits, with clear feedback to management

  • Liaising with clients, regulators, and external stakeholders

What They Are Looking For

  • NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum
  • IOSH membership, ideally working towards Chartered status
  • Proven experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of site-based risks within earthworks, drainage, or heavy civils environments
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with operatives through to senior management
  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable working in a site-based role
  • Good understanding of HSE systems, reporting, and compliance
  • Full UK driving licence

Package

  • £50,000 – £55,000 salary
  • Car or car allowance
  • £65 per night tax-free lodge
  • Guaranteed 10% bonus
  • Pension contribution
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Ongoing training and professional development

This role is suited to someone who already has experience in civil engineering or infrastructure and is looking to build further on a major project. They need someone who is comfortable on live sites, understands plant and high-risk activities, and can engage properly with site teams. It will suit someone who is hands-on and confident on site, used to working in fast-paced environments, and looking to develop towards a more senior HSE role.
