We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Interruption Specialist to join our Forensic Accounting Services team in London. Our Forensic Accounting Services team quantifies business interruption and complex financial loss for global insurers, reinsurers and captives. The work centres on high value, technically complex claims across sectors such as energy and other specialist risk classes, where detailed analysis and sound judgement are critical.
This role offers direct involvement in complex claims, combining hands-on technical delivery with close collaboration alongside senior specialists in a respected global practice. The work is varied, challenging and commercially relevant. As part of the team, you will analyse and quantify business interruption and other financial losses, supporting investigations arising from operational disruption and complex insured events. You will work with insurers, brokers, insured clients and internal colleagues to obtain financial information and agree appropriate methodologies. Financial models will be built, tested and reviewed to ensure assumptions and outputs are robust and defensible. You will also contribute to clear, well-structured forensic reports, explaining complex financial matters with accuracy and confidence. Responsibility for defined elements of large, multi-faceted claims will sit alongside supporting senior colleagues on wider engagements. Ongoing development of sector knowledge, particularly within power, energy and technical risks, will form a key part of the role, with all work undertaken in line with professional, regulatory and confidentiality standards.
This is perfect for someone who enjoys rigorous analysis, values technical depth, and wants to grow their forensic expertise within a collaborative, inclusive and intellectually demanding environment.
The skills you will have when you apply:
- Professional Qualification or Experience – A recognised accounting or finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar), or clear, relevant work experience that shows the same level of skill.
- Claims and Forensic Expertise – Hands-on experience in business interruption, forensic accounting, or insurance claims work.
- Strong Analytical Thinking – The ability to review complex figures, understand loss situations, and reach clear, well-reasoned conclusions.
- Interest in Technical and Energy Risks – Experience in, or a strong interest in, technical, industrial, power, or energy related risks.
- Clear and Confident Communication – The ability to explain financial issues in plain English, both in writing and when speaking with non-financial colleagues and clients.
- Collaborative and Flexible Approach – A proactive team player, comfortable working with colleagues of all genders across disciplines and countries, with some willingness to travel when needed.
What we’ll give you for this role:
- Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications.
- A Self Invested Personal Pension Scheme (SIPP).
- Holiday allowance of 25 days plus bank holidays.
- Flexible working from our office or your home.
- Private healthcare plan (including pre-existing conditions).
- Life assurance.
- Employee assistance programme for employee wellbeing.
- Wellbeing and digital GP apps.
- Group Income Protection.
- Voluntary flexible benefits – green car scheme, health assessment, travel insurance, dental cover, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan.
- Discounts on various products and services.
