We have a fantastic opportunity for Building Surveyors in South East England. As a Building Surveyor within our building consultancy division, you will play a key role in the reinstatement of buildings affected by a range of unexpected events including fire, flood, escape of water and impact. As the buildings expert, you will work with all stakeholders to ensure successful completion of projects to time and budget. You will interact with home and property owners, building contractors, loss adjusters and other professionals, so excellent communication skills, prioritisation, strategic thinking, as well as technical expertise, are all essential.
In addition to specifying building repairs and acting as contract administrator, you will be called upon to produce technical reports on a range of building matters and to assess and validate costs and quotations. Our surveyors adopt a mix of home, site and office-based working which helps support a healthy work/life balance, and you will have dedicated administrative and managerial support.

The things you will have when you apply:
- Excellent communication skills: You'll be able to work effectively with loss adjusters, contractors as well as homeowners who have suffered an insured loss, tailoring your approach and acting with empathy.
- A full UK Driving Licence: It’s essential you can drive to appointments throughout your work area.
- Knowledge of building construction and repair: You will have a good understanding of building construction, demonstrated through experience and qualification.
- MRICS/MCIOB or working towards: You may have relevant chartered qualification or certainly the entry requirements (Building Surveying degree or otherwise) and engagement to pursue chartership.
What is helpful, but not vital, in your application:
- Surveying experience in the Buildings Insurance sector.
- Experience working with schedules of rates and contractor networks.
- Familiarity with forms of building contract.
