We have a fantastic opportunity for a Surveying Operations Manager in London and South East. Continued growth of our Building Consultancy Division surveying team means we have an opportunity to recruit a talented and ambitious Building Surveying Operations Manager. As a member of the Building Consultancy leadership team and reporting to the Regional Director you will be responsible for a diverse team of surveyors at all experience levels. You will lead a team involved in projects to reinstate domestic and commercial properties following damage by insured perils, including fire, flood, escape of water and impact. Projects typically range in value from £50k to £1m.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Mentoring, training and development of your team
  • Ensuring your team meet targets for client service, technical reporting and quality
  • Understanding the importance of excellent customer care, and delivering it with your team
  • Developing and meeting financial targets and understanding how you can influence financial outcomes
  • Liaison with internal and external clients as required and understanding their individual requirements
  • Building collaborative working relationships with other product lines

You will be required to work closely across the business with peers in our Loss Adjusting teams to build relationships. An ability to bring along non-insurance clients would be valued. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Building Surveyor looking to develop their career into management or to take their current management experience to the next level.

  • Demonstrable management skills: The confidence to lead a high performing team.
  • Excellent communication skills: You'll speak with and write to your peers in our loss adjusting teams, insurers, contractors, and of course your own team, hosting effective meetings both remotely and in person to ensure wellbeing and delivery of results.
  • Building Surveying experience: You will support your team in all aspects of their role, including technical queries and development, so strong building construction knowledge is required.
  • MRICS/MCIOB or working towards: A relevant chartered qualification is an advantage, and certainly having the entry requirements (Building Surveying degree or otherwise) and engagement to pursue chartership is a prerequisite.
  • A full UK Driving Licence: It’s essential you can drive to appointments throughout your area of responsibility.
