Liability Claims Handler/Desktop Adjuster
Location: Remote/Hybrid

We are seeking experienced, confidentLiability Claims Handler/Desktop Adjusterswith a focus onEmployers Liability (EL),Public Liability (PL), andProperty Damage Claimsto join our clients well established liability team.
As anEL, PL, and Property Damage Claims Handler/Desktop Adjuster, you\’ll be responsible for managing a diverse range of claims, resulting in a varied and interesting workload.
This technical role involves investigating policy and legal liability, settling claims for our clients Insurers and Corporate clients, and handling third party injury and/or public liability property damage claims independently and under referral.
You will investigate allegations against policyholders, provide detailed advice on liability, collate relevant information, identify fraud risks, maintain proactive contact with all parties, manage litigation where appropriate, and ensure accurate maintenance of databases and correspondence.
With one of the largest teams of liability experts in the world, our client supports and resolves property, general, auto, product and professional liability claims, and helps our clients maintain brand protection in times of crisis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a wide variety of claimsfrom notification through to settlement, ensuring efficient handling and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Evaluating and assessing claims thoroughly, including reviewing evidence, determining legal liability, particularly in the context of workplace and public injury incidents.
- Applying relevant legislation and regulations in claims handling, including familiarity withEL/PLclaims protocols, health and safety laws.
- Effectively negotiating settlements with claimants, insurers, legal teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring a fair resolution in line with legal requirements.
- Explaining complex legal and insurance concepts clearly and concisely to all parties involved, including claimants, their legal representatives, employers, and insurers.
- Identifying and managing fraudulent claims and taking appropriate action to prevent or address fraud inEL/PL/injury claims.
- Managing claims through thelitigation process, adhering to required timescales and procedures.
- Supporting both internal and external teams, providing expert EL/PL and injury claims handling support on a secondment basis.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in handlingEmployers Liability (EL),Public Liability (PL), andinjury claims, from initial notification through to settlement.
- Strong understanding of relevantEL/PLinsurance legislation, health and safety regulations.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve claims fairly and efficiently, while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and insurance concepts to a variety of stakeholders, including claimants, legal representatives, employers, and insurers.
- Analytical skills with the ability to assess liability, including identifying fault in workplace accidents, health and safety breaches, or public incidents.
- A good understanding of the litigation process.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
