Building Surveying Operations Manager – London, Permanent
We are recruiting a Building Surveying Operations Manager to lead a diverse team of surveyors across domestic and commercial properties that have suffered damage from insured perils such as fire, flood, water escape and impact. Projects typically range in value from £50k to £1m.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor, train and develop the surveyor team.
- Ensure targets for client service, technical reporting and quality are met.
- Lead the team to deliver excellent customer care.
- Develop and meet financial targets and understand how to influence financial outcomes.
- Act as liaison with internal and external clients, understanding their requirements.
- Build collaborative relationships with other product lines and Loss Adjusting teams.
- Identify and bring along non‑insurance clients where possible.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable management skills and confidence to lead a high‑performing team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience hosting meetings remotely and in person.
- Strong building construction knowledge; experience supporting a team in technical queries and development.
- MRICS/MCIOB or working towards a relevant chartered qualification; entry requirement of a Building Surveying degree or equivalent and a commitment to pursue chartership.
- Valid UK driving licence and ability to drive to appointments within the area of responsibility.
