We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join Sedgwick Commercial Surveying & Design in Bristol. The role involves leading projects to restore commercial properties after damage, managing a range of project values from £50k to £5m.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects to reinstate commercial properties after damage.
- Prepare technical reports, defect diagnoses, schedules of works, tender documents, and contract administration.
- Manage project timelines, costs and quality control.
- Work alone or lead a small multidisciplinary team (QS, engineers, architects).
- Produce professional reports within tight deadlines and demonstrate empathy for affected clients.
- Support and develop less experienced colleagues and promote team skills.
- Build relationships with Loss Adjusting teams and external stakeholders.
- Maintain caseload independently and decide under pressure.
Qualifications
- MRICS or Chartered Building Surveyor; or suitable experience with a building‑related degree and progression towards chartered status.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation.
- Experience planning, scheduling, and contract administration for building projects.
- Strong communication, empathy, composure under pressure, and team‑player attitude.
