Sedgehill Academy is a vibrant, inclusive 11-18 academy on an exciting journey of school improvement with United Learning. We offer an outstanding education in a warm and supportive environment, uniting high academic achievement with strong development of character. We have high expectations for all our students and reject the view that success in life is pre‑determined or that our talents are fixed. We are seeking staff who are driven and ambitious, and who want to make a difference to the academy and the community we serve to make Sedgehill Academy become the school it deserves to be.
Being part of United Learning also means that staff benefit from shared expertise, CPD opportunities and resources. We take the professional development of our staff seriously. As a new member of staff in the school you will have a full induction programme as well as access to in-house and external training to support you on your journey to be an exemplary teacher, leader, or outstanding member of our support staff.
Music plays a fundamental role in the Academy's commitment to supporting strong development of character and providing students with a rich and educational experience. We are part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.
We are seeking a Lettings Assistant at Sedgehill Academy within United Learning’s South‑East London Cluster to work on an ‘as and when’ basis. Prior experience in a school environment is desirable, and a demonstrable customer‑focused approach is essential. As the ‘face of the Academy’, you will build strong relationships with community groups and users of our sports facilities to ensure that evening and weekend events run smoothly.
The school’s facilities are available for community use on Monday to Friday 5.30 pm to 10 pm, and Saturday and Sundays, 10 am to 5 pm, so the lettings assistant would need to be flexible to enable the site to be available for community groups during these times. As the first point of contact for all groups/individuals using our facilities, you will quickly build strong relationships with them. A proactive, approachable attitude and a commitment to excellent service are essential.
With a large and growing team, internal progression is both possible and actively encouraged, offering real opportunities to develop your career within United Learning. Professionalism in manner, conduct, and appearance is key. A proactive, ‘can‑do’ attitude and strong interpersonal skills will enable you to succeed in supporting the School Business Manager to run an effective and efficient out of hours booking service. We are looking for someone who can respond flexibly to changing priorities and changes in routine. Flexibility and adaptability are key to supporting the school in this role.
