An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join our Property Services team in the Midlands. The role requires regular travel across South and South-West Birmingham, Lichfield and surrounding areas; therefore, candidates should be based within reasonable commuting distance of Birmingham. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will take overall responsibility for multiple construction projects, ensuring delivery to agreed time, cost, quality and safety standards while meeting client expectations and performance targets.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion and defects period.
- Support delivery of the Business Plan alongside the Operations Director.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, SHEQ standards, and current legislation.
- Develop and manage Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans and carry out regular site visits and safety audits.
- Oversee programme development, monitor progress, and manage consultants and supply chain partners.
- Maintain financial control of projects, monitor budgets, prelims and monthly expenditure, and contribute to profit targets.
- Liaise with clients to build strong relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Support bid submissions including tender interviews, programme advice, risk reviews and adjudications.
- Drive quality standards, value engineering, document control (Asite), and use of company systems including RDrive.
Have you got what it takes:
- Proven experience in contract management, working as the main contractor.
- Commercially astute with experience in managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Demonstrated ability to work within project timelines and meet them.
- Up-to-date relevant knowledge of legislation.
- Experience in the relevant sector.
- Up-to-date relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
