An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Wood Machinist to join H&S Joinery based in Blackburn. In this role, you'll play an important part in our production process, working alongside experienced team leaders to manufacture high-quality joinery products. You'll be responsible for carrying out joinery work to the highest standards while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety, and productivity.

Hours of work will be: 7.45am - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45am to 3.15pm Friday.
What you'll do:
- Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate equipment like band saws, spindle moulders, planers, 4 & 7 head cutters.
- Reading Drawings: Interpret drawings, cut lists, and production job sheets.
- Material Preparation: Select, measure, mark out, and inspect timber and wood boards for quality.
- Maintenance & Safety: Keep tools sharp, service machinery, clear wood dust, and wearing of suitable PPE.
Have you got what it takes:
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality and safety.
- Strong accuracy in measuring, mathematical capability for calculating timber quantities, and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying materials.
- Is a quick learner and willing to be trained on new equipment and procedures.
