An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Lead Quantity Surveyor (Refurbishment) to join our Housing Partnerships team in the North-West. The purpose of the role is to provide effective lead commercial management and control of projects and to administer them in line with the applicable contract terms/statutory legislation, maximise margin and minimise the exposure of Seddon and their stakeholders to risk.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure that Seddon HS&E and quality standards, operating processes, company policies and all legislative requirements are understood, implemented and adhered to at all times.
  • Support and manage the cooperation and engagement between the surveyors and the Operations/Project/Contracts Manager and the project team(s).
  • Administer a range of Contracts concurrently, check that the forecast cash is accurate and completed in a timely manner, ensuring that the cash position of the project(s) has been maximised without compromising our contractual arrangements and relationships with either customers or subcontractors & suppliers.
  • Ensure that all cost control aspects of the project(s) are being managed appropriately, and that the correct cost reporting systems are utilised. Timely and accurate monthly CVRs are completed.
  • Provide accurate, real time, monthly reports (Cost Value Reconciliations) and final outcome forecasts in line with Seddon standards and monitor project commercial performance against agreed targets.
  • Ensure that procurement and management of Subcontract packages is carried out to complement the programmes across a range of projects.
  • Attend and participate in project team and monthly contract review meetings, advise on the financial status and provide details of risks and opportunities in order to develop strategies for their management.
  • Lead and manage Surveying staff under your control, developing them to achieve their full potential.
  • Support the induction, training, performance management and reviews of your Surveying team and offer continual and appropriate feedback.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Thorough understanding and compliance of financial and performance reporting.
