An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Estimator / Senior Estimator to join our Housing Partnerships team based in Bolton. We are a well-established family-owned contractor and developer specialising in the delivery of affordable housing for housing associations and public sector partners. Due to a strong pipeline of new-build residential schemes, we are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator / Senior Estimator to join our team.
You will play a key role in preparing competitive and robust cost plans and tender submissions for affordable housing developments, supporting projects from early feasibility through to contract award.

What you'll do:
- Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and tender submissions for new-build housing schemes
- Adopt a proactive approach to the value engineering process and provide alternative solutions to the compliant bids
- Understand each tender and identify relevant risks and opportunities
- Compile accurate budget costs and cost plans using appropriate data
- Manage the subcontract and material enquiry process
- Undertake land appraisals and feasibility assessments alongside land and development teams
- Support two-stage tenders and PCSA processes, including pricing packages progressively
- Assist with programme, procurement strategy, and buildability input
- Attend internal adjudications and client meetings
- Maintain and update benchmark cost data and build rates
Have you got what it takes:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience of various construction methods including MMC
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work as part of a team whilst using your own initiative
- Helping and guiding junior members of the estimating team
- Conquest or similar (not essential as training will be provided)
- Good standard of mathematical ability
- Ability to take off quantities to SMM7 / NRM2
