An opportunity to join our extremely successful paper packaging manufacturing plant in Blackwood, which has experienced sustained growth for the past 15 years. Involved in producing items for some of the best-known food outlets in the UK, the role offers a structured development program to develop your knowledge and enhance your career
The role is designed to help maximise the department machines’ output and maintain the manufacturing processes within the designed specification. You would need to work with other team members to continuously improve manufacturing performance, on occasion leading by example or managing the team to resolve issues.
Working a 3-shift pattern, Mornings, Afternoons and Nights, Monday to Friday, this role will focus on effective preventative and reactive maintenance, machinery set-up and repairs, supporting the high-volume, state of the art manufacturing equipment
What You Will Do
- Provision of engineering and operational support to a manufacturing area
- Machine setting, to achieve product specification and performance
- Maintenance of automated inspection systems
- Fault finding and corrective action and machine inspections
- Responding to minor/major machine breakdowns
- Preventative maintenance
Who You Are
- Time-served technician with 3+ years’ experience of working within busy manufacturing environment.
- Experience in fast-pace production machinery in FMCG / Packaging / Food industry
- Knowledge of high speed and/or food processing production
- Fault finding and problem-solving expertise
- Adaptable and able to connect with others
- Team orientated/ collaborative
- Able to operate & take decisions independently where necessary

We Offer You
Salary of £30,906.75 per year, plus 15% (£4,636.01) shift allowance. There may be occasion to work a 7-day continental rota, for which the shift premium is 35% (£10,817.36).
