Trinity Fire & Security Systems are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to own the commercial lifecycle and cost control of fire & security projects—covering pre-contract, contract execution, change management, valuations, final account, and post-project lessons learned.
This dual role combines the strategic, client-facing responsibilities of a Commercial Manager with the analytical, cost-management duties of a Quantity Surveyor, ensuring profitable delivery, contract compliance, and cash certainty across a portfolio of projects (typically major projects and assistance to small works if required).
What you'll be doing
- Lead risk identification and mitigation, interpret specifications/drawings, and select, amend, and negotiate appropriate contract forms (JCT/NEC/bespoke) to secure commercially robust terms.
- Establish and control project budgets and CVRs, manage payments and change control, and maintain all commercial registers to ensure accurate forecasting, compliance, and value protection.
- Measure and value works, reconcile costs, manage interim and final accounts, and optimise margins through productivity validation, value engineering, and procurement efficiencies.
What we're looking for
- You might already be a Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyor — or perhaps a Fire & security professional ready to take the next step. You'll have:
- Proven commercial/QS experience within M&E or Fire & Security, with proven success delivering profitable outcomes under JCT/NEC contracts across complex or multi-site programmes.
- A strong understanding of Commercial law and contract administration.
- Experience with CVR, cash flow, WIP, earned value, forecasting, margin management.
What Trinity Offers
- Competitive base salary.
- 23 days' holiday, increasing with service, plus bank holidays.
- Company vehicle or car allowance.
- Employee Discount Programme – savings across 800+ retailers.
- Pension via Royal London, Life Assurance, and Employee Assistance Programme.
- Referral bonus of up to £2,000.
- Ongoing training and career development opportunities.
