Electrical/Electronic Laboratory Technician Location: RG7 4PR , located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking . Package: From £31,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience) Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Let us introduce the role AWE has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our Technology Development Group, bringing their experience to AWE and to successfully playing a key role in delivering for our customers. Working within our Plasma Diagnostic Support Team , you’ll be assisting with the assembly and testing of bespoke hardware and supporting engineers and scientists with conducting laboratory experiments. On a day-to-day basis, you will apply and hone your skills, working in accordance with task instructions in a safe and effective manner whilst maintaining a clean, safe, and secure environment within the laboratory. Where will you be working? Orion – the largest and most powerful laser system and experimental facility for high-energy density physics in the UK. Orion delivers high-quality output to a demanding user programme. It recreates physical conditions in the lab like those found in the heart of the sun, with its high-power laser beamlines, all housed in a building the size of a football pitch! Who are we looking for? Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we’d like you to have experience in some of the following: Practical Electrical/Electronic qualification(s) and/or experience in maintaining, fault finding, repairing electrical systems down to modular level Working in a laboratory/workshop environment Use of testing and measuring equipment, such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes etc Some reasons we think you’ll love it here: AWE has wide range of benefits to suit you.
