We are recruiting for a Contract Exit Manager to work alongside Commercial, Contract, Service, and Delivery Managers within the Technology Services Team. The role is crucial in ensuring seamless coordination during contract exits and transitions. As a key player in this process, you will collaborate closely with incumbent suppliers to guarantee an orderly and efficient conclusion of service provision, facilitating a smooth transition to in-house teams or replacement suppliers upon the expiry of the Service Agreement. In this role, you will bring proven, extensive experience in developing and managing exit plans with suppliers. This includes overseeing arrangements for data provision, staff transfers, hardware decommissioning, and other exit services. Additionally, you will ensure access to departing personnel and facilitate effective knowledge sharing to support continuity and success during the transition period. Important Submission Requirement: All applicants must include a detailed statement describing the exit process they have managed in a previous role as an Exit Manager. This will be used to assess your suitability and expertise for this position. Key accountabilities: Work closely with Transition and Delivery and develop and maintain relationships with incumbent suppliers and representatives of internal teams and/or replacement suppliers to support the aim of moving to the new service in accordance with the overall plan. Develop and finalise with the incumbent supplier’s Exit Plan including seeking agreement on the provision of Termination Services. Termination Services are likely to include: a. Data provision – IT/technology, processes/manuals, service data, support contracts, staff data, facilities b. Staff transfer process (e.g. staff consultation, staff data, redundancy costs) c. Other Termination Services, e.g. access to incumbent personnel, provision of knowledge transfer/shadowing, provision of subject matter experts for technical meetings etc. Work closely with Commercial to agree on any yet-to-be-defined charges for Termination Services and facilitate agreement of those dependencies to be delivered by the incumbent that is required by the replacement supplier in the Implementation of the new service. Define and agree the incumbent explicit exit-related accountabilities and responsibilities to ensure transparency of ownership. Review replacement supplier deliverables from an exit perspective to ensure the new supplier’s Implementation is integrated and in line with the agreed Exit Plan. Manage the progress of the incumbent against the agreed Exit Plan, Termination Services and external dependencies. Key requirements: ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE – A statement detailing the exit process you have managed before as Exit Manager. Proven extensive experience in developing exit plans with suppliers, including exit arrangements for data provision, staff transfers, hardware decommissioning and other exit service provisions including access to exiting personnel and knowledge sharing. Proven experience in defining and agreeing exit-related accountabilities and responsibilities for the existing supplier and holding the supplier to account in respect of those responsibilities and any agreed deliverables. Proven ability to manage complex and potentially strained supplier relationships during the period of exit, including demonstrable ability to defuse and dissolve conflict between involved parties. Strong commercial and supplier management skills to encourage collaborative working across all parties. Experience in leading large-scale migrations and technology rollouts. Experience in large-scale public-sector IT programme delivery (£30m+ value). SC highly desirable; candidates with active SC clearance will be fast-tracked.
