Pay: £16.55 per hour

Hours: 42 hours per week working 4 on, 4 off, nights only

As a Security Team Leader, you will oversee Controllers and Security Officers while ensuring exceptional visitor service across the exhibition, building, staff, and visitor spaces. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment, upholding high standards of professionalism, and protecting the integrity of the site at all times.

The Security Team Leader will supervise daily operations, ensuring compliance with procedures, policies, and legal requirements, including data protection and health and safety legislation. You will also provide hands-on operational support, act as a point of contact outside of standard hours when required, and take the lead during incidents, ensuring effective response, escalation, and resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of Security Officers and Controllers, ensuring adherence to procedures, policies and legal requirements including the Data Protection Act and Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Provide operational support and act as a point of contact after hours as needed, taking the lead during incidents and ensuring effective management and escalation of emergencies
  • Respond to incidents in back-of-house areas and manage alarm activations effectively
  • Ensure effective execution of duties such as patrols, CCTV monitoring and emergency response
  • Immediately inform emergency services during major incidents, contact relevant management representatives, and take necessary actions per assignment instructions
  • Coordinate daily post rotations, including task assignments and breaks. Conduct regular visits to posts to monitor performance and welfare
  • Plan and deliver activities and services to specified standards to meet expectations

Qualifications

  • A valid SIA licence
  • Team leader/supervisor experience
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends
  • The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history
  • First aid trained
  • Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken
