Company Description

We are hiring a Life Safety & Security System Designer covering the South East & South West Region (Remote). Pay is competitive with opportunities to grow. Hours are Monday-Friday 08:30 - 17:00. Benefits include 25 days' holiday, a pension scheme, and many more.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Securitas Technology in a specialist role that brings together system design and technical expertise to deliver high-quality, risk-mitigating solutions for our clients. As a Systems Designer, you will focus on Fire Alarm systems, Electronic Security, and Communications solutions (including paging and staff attack), working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to create commercially competitive designs that meet client needs and support business growth across the UK.

Reporting into the Design Manager, you will collaborate cross-functionally to turn technical insight into practical, scalable solutions that help drive the continued success of Securitas Technology. Job Description

  • Define and develop security solutions across Comms, Fire, and Electronic Security in collaboration with Sales and Marketing.
  • Understand customer needs and identify solution gaps to meet local market demands.
  • Ensure all designs meet product, regulatory, and standards compliance.
  • Stay informed on market trends and developments to support competitive solutions.
  • Communicate solution capabilities clearly to commercial and operational teams.
  • Leverage existing national and international solutions, working with European colleagues to align best practice.
  • Produce detailed scopes of work, including bespoke requirements for Comms solutions.
  • Create accurate and comprehensive costing documentation for approval.
  • Develop detailed technical drawings showing system layouts and dependencies.
  • Produce implementation programmes outlining key steps, durations, and milestones.
  • Support opportunity conversion by delivering high-quality design and documentation within agreed timeframes.

Accountabilities and Performance Measures

  • To conversion rate of opportunities assigned to you to design.
  • Produce and design all required documentation in line with the sales process, approval process and client timeframes.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Design Manager.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 5+ years' experience in solution design within Security, Electronic Security, IS/IT, IoT, or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of fire system design, with valid FIA Design qualifications.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including solution design documentation.
  • Experience working in a national or multi-site environment.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • Full UK driving licence and 5-year checkable work history.

Desirable

This role requires an individual with extensive technical knowledge from an Electronic Security perspective with a sound understanding of networks and IT infrastructure to ensure they can support to innovate and design standardised products but also work in conjunction with the Sales Specialist to design tailored/integrated Electronic Security solutions for our clients. The individual should be able to create technical designs using Visio/Bluebeam. CAD capability would be advantageous. A good understanding of network/server vulnerabilities and security considerations.
