Location: Plymouth, UK

Pay: £12.80 per hour

Hours: 6 on 3 off or 8 on 4 off

The Security Officer is responsible for delivering a professional security service that protects people, property, and assets in line with Assignment Instructions and customer requirements. As a Security Officer, you will help maintain a safe environment through effective patrols, monitoring, incident reporting, and excellent customer service. An SIA licence is required, and the Security Officer will be expected to uphold the core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.

Working towards or holding a valid SIA licence. Good communication skills and customer focus, ability to work independently and in a team. Reliable, punctual, and flexible with shifts (days/nights/weekends). Full UK driving licence and own transport desirable. Security experience 2+ years (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Protect property and premises through patrols, monitoring alarms/CCTV, managing keys, issuing passes, and maintaining accurate logs.
  • Support health & safety by identifying risks, responding to incidents, and maintaining First Aid equipment.
  • Prevent loss and crime by reporting risks, conducting searches, operating security equipment, and handling investigations.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by assisting staff/visitors, handling enquiries, and maintaining a professional image.
  • Complete handovers, documentation, and any tasks requested by management, while upholding Securitas values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.

Qualifications

  • Working towards or holding a valid SIA licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Over 18, five-year checkable work history or valid documentation for gaps.
  • No criminal convictions.
  • Good communication skills and customer focus, ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with shifts (days/nights/weekends).
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport desirable.
  • Security experience 2+ years (Preferred).
