We’re Hiring: Security Officer
Location: Hazelwood, Derbyshire, UK
Pay: £12.60 per hour
Hours: 12-hour shifts - 42 hours per week average - days and nights

- Willing to work shifts including days, nights, and weekends.
- Experience as a Security Officer.
- Full UK driving licence and own transport.
The Security Officer is responsible for delivering a professional security service that protects people, property, and assets by following Assignment Instructions and customer requirements. As a Security Officer, they are expected to always act with professionalism and ensure a safe and secure environment. The Security Officer must also uphold Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness in every aspect of their role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety & Security: Protect people, property, and information by preventing unauthorised access. Monitor alarms, CCTV systems, and security equipment. Conduct regular internal and external patrols. Manage parking areas and complete lock/unlock duties. Respond to and report incidents promptly and accurately. Maintain and check security equipment, passes, and records.
- Health & Safety: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors. Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions. Follow emergency procedures, including First Aid when required. Keep accurate documentation in line with site and company standards.
- Loss Prevention: Identify risks such as theft, vandalism, or suspicious behaviour. Help reduce waste and unnecessary energy use through proactive monitoring. Support investigations and ensure all findings are recorded.
- Crime Prevention & Deterrence: Use radios and other security devices effectively. Conduct searches when required by site policy. Investigate, report, and escalate suspicious activity appropriately.
- Customer Service: Provide professional and courteous support to staff, visitors, and contractors. Handle queries and offer assistance in a helpful manner. Maintain high standards of personal presentation and professionalism.
- Additional Duties: Complete thorough handovers and maintain all relevant paperwork. Attend training sessions to keep skills and qualifications up to date. Follow all company and site policies, procedures, and instructions. Carry out any reasonable duties assigned by management.
